Capitol B is DC’s New Green Lifestyle Examiner
Yesterday was Earth Day, and for 24 hours we were all reminded to show our green side, do something for Mother Earth, and lessen our carbon footprints. I celebrated the day with the launch of my new Examiner column. As DC’s new Green Lifestyle Examiner, it’s my goal to show people that being green is about more than tree hugging one day out of the year.
I’ve been vegetarian longer than I haven’t, utilize the services of a green cleaning company, and refuse to travel in anything other than my lush eco-fabulous bamboo togs. I drive a sleek little fuel-efficient, economy car, tote my own chic reusable shopping bags to Whole Foods, and sip my “bottled” water from a super cute Sigg. I’ve incorporated a green attitude into my daily routine, and while I’m also known as a pampered fashionista, I’ve never had to sacrifice style and comfort for a more eco-conscious lifestyle. My motto is “If you think being green can’t be chic, fun, fabulous, and easy – then you’re doing it wrong!”
Too many people still label environmentalists as “crunchy, granola” types with dirt under their fingernails and a Birkenstock addiction. Well, as is my nature, I’m set on shattering that outdated view and introducing a different, more modern kind of green girl or guy. Check out my column at Examiner.com, and subscribe to get the latest scoop on how to make a difference for our planet – while staying true to our lush and lovely side.
Happy reading, and happy greening!

Great job! I know the column will take off and glad you provide the new view of a “green lifestyle.”
