Get Trunk with Capitol B
When Ora Nwabueze first told me about his idea for a creative concept events collective, that would support local talented and committed artists, musicians, designers, and not-for-profit organizations in some of the most fabulous and under-utilized spaces in DC, I knew he was on to something. From that idea, The Dunes came to life, and I’m so excited to invite all of my friends and readers in the DC area to attend our first event this Sunday, 26 April, at LeftBank in Adams Morgan (2424 18th Street, NW), from 3:00 – 6:00pm – Get Trunk with Artistic AYA to benefit Pediatric AIDS/HIV Care, Inc.
This event will be an amazing fusion of fashion, art, and music (live entertainment courtesy of DJ Collins Hughes and local band Tennis System). The Dunes will donate 100% of the proceeds from this event to Pediatric AIDS/HIV Care, Inc. Tickets can be purchased online and at the door for $20 General and $50 VIP.
All tickets include open bar from 3:00-4:30pm, runway show, an off-runway accessories show (in which yours truly will be modeling some of Artistic AYA’s fabulous jewelry), pop-up boutique, and live entertainment. VIP tickets include exclusive access to the after-party at Metropolitain, the downstairs champagne bar at Napoleon Bistro (1847 Columbia Road, NW – also in Adams Morgan), with complimentary champagne and DJ set from 6:00-9:00pm. Also
waiting for you at Napoleon will be a lovely gift bag, filled with products and gift certificates from local businesses, including Radiance Medspa, Crooked Monkey, of course, Artistic AYA.
Artistic AYA is Dana Ayanna Greaves, a DC-based artist and designer who combines high-art craftsmanship with street style to create unique jewelry and couture that have sold in local boutiques and national museums. You may have seen her creations in Lucky, DC Magazine, Daily Candy, The Washington Post, or on Today.
Sunday will be gorgeous, and LeftBank is known for its open wall overlooking 18th Street. Hope to see you there!

I plan to be there!
