Vote for Sweetest Things 2008

23 December, 2008

It’s that time of year, and no, I’m not referring to the holidays. It’s time to vote for your local favorites in Daily Candy’s annual Sweetest Things. Savvy sweet tooths from Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, London, LA, Miami, daily-candys-sweetest-things-2008New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, and DC can select their picks for the best in Style, Advice, Bite, Nest, and Pamper. There is also an Everywhere option for Daily Candy enthusiasts whose hometown doesn’t have a local edition.

I did my civic duty and made my DC picks yesterday. I feel so strongly about each of these amazing nominees that I want to share my choices with you.

  • STYLE: Luciana and Joshua Tiktin, DEKKA – I love love love the eclectic style and inspired collections housed at this designers’ and artists’ showcase on U Street. Featured work includes the show-stopping jewelry designs of my friend Meagan Kurtz at ADMK Jewelry, the lush photography of the amazing Vsweetest-things-2008iet Chu, and so much more.
  • ADVICE: Kacy Paide, The Inspired Office – The super sweet and super talented Kacy Paide can transform any cluttered, disorganized, or desolately sterile office into a creative haven. Kacy recently worked with my friend Karen Parker of All Things Inaugural, who now swears by Kacy’s talents as an office space miracle worker.
  • BITE: Diane Gross and Khalid Pitts, Cork – Best. Wine. Bar. In. DC. And amazing food, too!
  • NEST: Linda Plaisted, Many Muses Studio – Linda’s mixed media work is truly resonant. It is unique, evocative, and simply gorgeous. And, Linda is donating the proceeds of her 2008 Holiday Limited Edition print to charity.
  • PAMPER: Abstained – I am not familiar with any of the nominees, so how could I choose fairly? I leave all of my pampering to the Red Door at Pentagon Row.

So we’re not a DC-based business but I would appreciate if anyone interested, would check out the Everywhere Pamper nominees and consider voting for Organica Deluxe. We’re a new online eco-friendly luxury gift boutique. Many thanks!
